Associate Faculty Position in Theoretical Physics, Department of Applied Mathematics, the University of Western Ontario and Associate Member, Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics.
The Department of Applied Mathematics at the University of Western Ontario and Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics invite applications for a joint appointment in the area of theoretical physics (broadly defined). This is a tenure-track faculty position at UWO, in combination with Associate Membership at Perimeter Institute. Rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience; exceptional senior applicants may also be considered.
Areas of interest to the Department and Perimeter Institute include astrophysics, cosmology, condensed matter theory, gravitational physics, and particle physics.
An important goal for this position is to further integrate the research activities of Perimeter and UWO, and it is therefore paramount that the candidate fit well with the cultures of both organizations. Presently, one UWO faculty member is a Perimeter Associate in string theory, and three faculty members in other research areas have Affiliate status. Faculty with joint appointments are expected to spend significant amounts of time in both locations, and will have a suitably reduced teaching load.
