Mathematica Summer School 2015

COVID-19 information for PI Residents and Visitors

Conference Date:
Monday, August 24, 2015 (All day) to Saturday, August 29, 2015 (All day)
Pirsa Collection:
Scientific Areas:
Quantum Fields and Strings
Quantum Information

The goal of the school is to bring together theoretical physicists of all levels who want to learn both Mathematica and a selected advanced research topic on Theoretical Physics. The courses on Mathematica will be given focusing on examples borrowed from the topic selected for each edition. This year the focus of the school will be on Entanglement.

Registration for the summer school is now closed.

Quantum mechanics in the early universe

We will review the mechanism for the generation of primordial fluctuations. We will then discuss ways in which one can test their quantum mechanical nature

Quantum mechanics and the geometry of spacetime

After a short review of the gauge gravity duality, we will discuss black holes.
We will explain what the duality tells us about black holes as viewed from the outside.
We will review some of the puzzles that arise when we try to describe the black hole
interior. We will describe wormholes and their interpretation in the dual field theory as entangled states
