How to Respond if You Have Symptoms or Suspect You Have Been Exposed to COVID-19

Perimeter is committed to protecting the health and safety of its residents. We are all in this together and have a shared responsibility in keeping our community safe.

Self-Assessment and COVID-19 Symptoms

To ensure the health and safety of yourself and all other PI residents, Perimeter requires that all residents monitor themselves daily for symptoms of COVID-19.

Before leaving your home to come to Perimeter, please take note of your health. If you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, you are not permitted to enter the building. Residents will also be reminded to conduct a self-assessment at the entrance to the building prior to entering.

You must follow the direction from Region of Waterloo Public Health. Self-isolate, monitor your symptoms, and contact Telehealth Ontario for advice if you are ill. You must self-isolate for a minimum of 14 days from the day you developed COVID-19 symptoms.

Notify your Manager, Director or Mentor and People and Culture ([email protected]) that you are ill and must remain at home. You may not return to the building until you have been cleared to do so by People and Culture.

Contact With Others

If you are in close contact with or caring for someone who has symptoms, or a presumptive/confirmed case of COVID-19, you must stay home. You are not permitted to enter the building. Contact Telehealth Ontario for further instruction, monitor yourself for symptoms, and follow directions from Region of Waterloo Public Health

Disclosure

If a PI resident tests positive or has a presumptive case of COVID-19, they must notify People and Culture ([email protected]) immediately to ensure proper attention can be given to decontaminating the building and notifying residents. People and Culture will notify the individual’s Manager/Director/Mentor.

Region of Waterloo Public Health will work with Perimeter to notify individuals who may have come into close contact with a person who tested positive for COVID-19. Individuals who have been in close contact with the person with a positive case will be required to self-isolate for a minimum of 14 days from the last known contact with the affected individual.

Those who have not been in close contact with the individual will not be informed. Perimeter has developed thorough cleaning protocols including protocol for disinfecting affected areas. If a temporary closure of the building is required, all residents will be notified.

Personal health information, including a positive COVID-19 case, is protected by law. Perimeter will not share personal health information or identifiable information about the individual or information that would tend to identify the individual with a positive COVID-19 case.

Time Away From Work

Perimeter's Time Away From Work policy can be found on the PI portal. If you are experiencing COVID-19 related symptoms but able to conduct your regular work, you may do so from your home. Any questions can be directed to your Manager, Director, Mentor, and/or People and Culture ([email protected]).
