I am a Postdoctoral researcher at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics in Waterloo (Canada) and Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh (United States). I am passionate about theoretical cosmology and theoretical physics in general.

I am generally interested in the application of abstract mathematics in theoretical physics to further our understanding of observations and the workings of our universe. During my bachelors and masters in Groningen, I applied homology and catastrophe theory to the late time universe. Nowadays, I use Picard-Lefschetz theory to study lensing, the world-line quantization of relativistic quantum mechanics, and quantum cosmology. I also study the formation of shocks in the early universe.

I obtained my PhD from the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics and the University of Waterloo under the supervision of Neil Turok. I received bachelor and master degrees in Physics, Astronomy, and Mathematics from the University of Groningen (Netherlands) and a master degree in Applied Mathematics (Part III) from the University of Cambridge (United Kingdom).
